You will be responsible for leading the development of a new website for this
organization in the tourism industry. This will include writing the creative
brief as well as working with consultants and partners to create an industry-
leading site.
You will be responsible for the ongoing strategic management, updating and
development for the website to ensure that it is cutting edge and relevant to
customers.
You and your team under the direction of the senior marketing director will
also be responsible for supervising day-to-day maintenance on the web site,
setting standards for design, performing navigation and browser
compatibility and ensuring quality-control for third party content. You will
also document web best practices and write maintainable HTML/ASP code,
update all content, and advise staff and outside partners on how to best
optimize their content for online deployment.
Additional responsibilities will include:
•Advise Senior staff of opportunities for expanded website features and
functions, including the implementation of new technologies and trends
•Strategic development of comprehensive eMarketing plan
•Take the lead on developing the creative brief for the new website.
•Build and manage a team of both internal resources and external
consultants
•Maintain a high level of website customer satisfaction by conducting
periodic user surveys and usability test and initiating modifications based on
user feedback
•Serve as the organization’s resource person for using the Internet and
gaining access to the Internet. Attends shows on equipment and software,
contacts vendors and maintains liaisons with other agency webmasters.
•Write structured, validated, and documented HTML code for ease of
maintenance so that the code can be read and understood by others.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, IT or related field is required
- A minimum of 5 years of web and/or interactive marketing experience
- Fortune 500 work experience
- A high level of knowledge in cutting edge trends such as web 2.0, etc.
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Highly proficient communication skills - verbal, written and platform
- Proven leadership capabilities
- Ability to interact and work closely with a team
Technology Qualifications:
-Strong knowledge and experience with web-authoring tools and
programming languages such as Dreamweaver, Flash, Adobe, Cold Fusion,
Flex, Ajax, HTML, CSS, XML and JavaScript.
-Knowledge of web and email7 industry trends and applicable
technologies including podcasts, blogs, Search Engine Optimization,
Widgets/Gadgets and security issues.
-Expert ability to conduct research on the Internet, to collect and evaluate
statistics/metrics; In-depth knowledge of software that runs on the Internet,
including, but not limited to search engines, counters, browsers, databases,
and plug-ins.
