Ken Holec
Ken Holec has 15 years of President/CEO experience at two of Minnesota’s largest enterprise software product companies. He completed 13 years, 8 as CEO, at Lawson Software, an enterprise business applications software provider. He spent 8 years at ShowCase Corporation, a worldwide provider of enterprise intelligence software solutions until they were acquired by SPSS in 2001. He was with both companies from shortly after they generated their initial revenues until they reached approximately 50M in annual sales. More recently he has served as the interim CEO of Peopleclick in Raleigh, North Carolina. Peopleclick provides workforce solutions to help enterprises efficiently build and manage a productive and diverse workforce.
Ken has extensive experience in enterprise software strategy, marketing, sales, organizational development, financing and multinational operations. Mr. Holec is also currently Chairman of Revation Systems, and has prior Board of Director experience with other software companies including SPSS (SPSS) and Stellent (STEL). He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota and is an OPM graduate of Harvard University.
Doug Berg
Doug Berg, 41, is co-founder of Minneapolis-based HotGigs Inc. and is an expert in web-based staffing solutions. He started his career as a "techie" and was the IT director for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Doug was also founder and CEO of Quantum Consulting & Placement a Minneapolis based IT consulting and placement services company. From here, Doug founded techies.com in the mid-late 1990s which helped technology professionals manage their careers and helped companies hire and retain their IT professionals, and was voted the #1 IT career site by PC Week in 1999.
Doug is a visionary technology entrepreneur, and is frequently quoted in the press, and is a featured speaker on workforce, career and online recruiting strategies. Doug holds an honorary Doctorate Degree in Technology from Capella University.
Peter Brasket
Peter Brasket, 46, is a leader in business development, sales, channel development and corporate management in the fast-growth technology industry. He has extensive experience in e-commerce, staffing, advertising, and online promotion. Before helping to found HotGigs, Peter was a leader at a popular dot-com national technology careers site, where his business and corporate development efforts helped grow registered membership to nearly 1 million technology professionals in three years. Peter’s international focus — he speaks fluent Japanese — helped him create and drive a highly successful channels program for Gartner Group, an international leader in IT analysis. Peter has also built channels, led offshore engineering projects and managed other overseas ventures for J3 Learning and Varitronics.
Steve Shaffer
Steve Shaffer, 42, has played key roles in finance and business development for early stage / high growth companies in technology and medical device sectors. He was part of the investor group that provided initial funding to launch HotGigs.
Steve has a broad consulting background focused on managerial accounting, finance and operations, having worked in both public accounting (Grant Thornton) as well as industry (Sara Lee and ABC Technologies). Most recently he served as CFO & VP of Business Development for Harland Medical Systems Inc, a fast growing company in the biomedical device coatings market. Steve holds an MBA from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a BA in Philosophy from Wheaton College. He also passed the CPA exam in 1994.
